11 New Metal Songs Out This Week

Necrowretch

It’s a pretty huge week for metal, thanks to the release of the most hyped metal album of the year, Blood Incantation’s Hidden History of the Human Race, and another very hyped metal album, Obsequiae’s The Psalms of Sorrowed Kings. You can read about both of those in Notable Releases and read about the new albums from Lord Mantis, Den, and more at Invisible Oranges’ Upcoming Metal Releases. This week also gave us new singles from soon-to-be tourmates Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson, plus Bloodlet, Cattle Decapitation, Jasta/Kirk Windstein, Necrowretch, Marijannah, and more. Read on for all the heavy songs we posted on BV this week…

MARILYN MANSON – “THE END” (THE DOORS COVER)

Marilyn Manson has released a very noir cover of The Doors’ “The End” (produced by Shooter Jennings), which he recorded for the upcoming TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand, which Manson is also starring in. You might be thinking you never need to hear another Doors cover ever again, but this one is legitimately cool. Manson is also gearing up for a 2020 tour with Ozzy Osbourne

OZZY OSBOURNE – “STRAIGHT TO HELL” (ft. SLASH)

…who also has a new song out today. It’s the second single from his upcoming album Ordinary Man, it features Slash, and it sees the Ozzman making some clear nods to his Black Sabbath days.

BLOODLET – “ViPER IN HAND”

’90s-era metallic hardcore greats Bloodlet are releasing their first new music since 2002 in the form of the two-song “Viper In Hand” / “Choking on the Peat” single on December 20 via Translation Loss. You can hear the ass-kicking “Viper In Hand” over at Decibel.

CATTLE DECAPITATION – “DEATH ATLAS”

Cattle Decapitation’s new album Death Atlas drops next week (11/29) via Metal Blade, and today they’ve shared the title track. It’s a nine-minute song, and it covers a lot of musical ground in that time, from steamrolling brutality to serene atmospheric stuff, and plenty of the in-between.

JASTA – “SPILLED BLOOD NEVER DRIES” (ft. KIRK WINDSTEIN)

Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta is releasing a new guest-filled Jasta album, The Lost Chapters, Vol. 2, on December 13 via Perseverance Media Group, and it features members of Sacred Reich, Prong, Ignite, Biohazard, Cannibal Corpse, Killswitch Engage, and more. The new single features Crowbar frontman (and Jasta’s Kingdom of Sorrow bandmate) Kirk Windstein, and it’s a dose of anthemic, melodic alt-metal.

NECROWRETCH – “LUCIFERIAN SOVRANTY”

French blackened death metallers Necrowretch will release their new album, The Ones From Hell, on February 14 via Season of Mist (very Valentine’s Day appropriate, obviously). The first single is “Luciferian Sovranty,” which is an adrenaline rush of pure filth.

MARIJANNAH – “1966”

Marijannah, the Singapore stoner metal band with members of Wormrot, The Caulfield Cult, and Abolition A.D., are releasing a new album called Istanah on December 6 via Cursed Tongue Records. The first single is called “1966,” and it includes the lyric “the year is one and god is done,” though with its thick, fuzzed-out riffs, it sounds more like the year is 1971.

RULE THEM ALL – “TEACHER”

Long Island hardcore up and comers Rule Them All are releasing their new Dreams About… EP on December 6 via Flatspot Records, and you can read more about new song “Teacher” here.

BLOOD INCANTATION – HIDDEN HISTORY OF THE HUMAN RACE

OBSEQUIAE – THE PSALMS OF SORROWED KINGS
