The Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival returns with its fourth year starting June 26 and continuing every Tuesday through Labor Day. Brought to you by City Winery (where the shows take place), the free outdoor shows (they’re behind the venue) go down from 5:30PM to 7:30 PM “rain or shine” and will feature appearances from Portland Cello Project (who also have other shows coming up), Brother Joscephus & Betty, Marco Benevento, Sam Moore, Luisa Maita, Ollabelle, Ryan Montbleau Band, Marshall Crenshaw, Toubab Krewe, and Poundcake featuring Teddy Thompson, Jeff Hill, and Ethan Eubanks.

The Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival Lineup

June 26th: Portland Cello Project
The ensemble kicks off the series with an extravagant performance, mixing genres and blurring musical lines from Beethoven to instrumental covers of Kanye West.

July 3rd: Brother Joscephus & Betty
Dip into a gumbo rich with New Orleans rhythms, old school soul, classic rock and feel-good gospel music, after warming up with the pop rock band Betty.

July 10th: Marco Benevento
An exhilarating glimpse into the future of rock piano: Marco employs pedals, amplifiers, circuit-bent toys and sundry effects around his acoustic piano set-up.

July 17th: Sam Moore
American Southern Soul and Rhythm & Blues with the legendary Soul Man.

July 24th: Luisa Maita (Brazil Fest)
Samba, Bossa Nova and other classic Brazilian styles mix with jazz pop, funk and down tempo electronic music.

July 31st: Ollabelle
Roots music intersecting with the old Hymns of American Gospel.

August 7th: Ryan Montbleau Band
Feel-good retro funk from a pure soul singer

August 14th: Marshall Crenshaw
Marshall Crenshaw taps into the roots of American Folk and Rock music to present his singular voice.

August 21st: Toubab Krewe
Blending American and West African influences into a sound all its own, “a new standard for fusions of rock ‘n’ roll and West African music” (Afropop Worldwide).

August 28th: Poundcake featuring Teddy Thompson, Jeff Hill, and Ethan Eubanks
The trio finishes the series covering classic tunes from the 50’s and 60’s.
