2015 Brooklyn Comedy Fest starts Sunday: lineup / schedule

Brooklyn Comedy Festival 2015

The third annual Brooklyn Comedy Festival will be taking place across 12 different venues throughout the borough from August 24 – August 30. Showcasing a staggering array of New York’s finest comedic talent, the festival will deliver audiences everything under the comedy rainbow including stand-up, sketch, duo, improv, musical comedy, character, storytelling, and more. Mercifully, the shows are either free or extremely inexpensive. Who, exactly, is gonna be there? Let’s see:

Performers this year include Sasheer Zamata, Big Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder, Monroe Martin, Chris Gethard, Sean Patton, Aparna Nancherla, Seaton Smith, Mark Normand, Nick Vatterott, Michelle Wolf, Nick Turner, Myq Kaplan, Louis Katz, Kevin Barnett, Yamaneika Saunders, Michelle Buteau, Joe Pera, Dave Hill, Josh Gondleman, Jared Logan, Pete Lee as well as sketch and improv from groups like Murderfist, GUS, RICHARD. There will be surprise drop ins and special guests including Ron Jeremy. The final show of the festival will bring Roast Battle to The Knitting Factory!

The fest begins with a Kick-off Party and Showcase at Knitting Factory on Sunday (8/23) and will culminate, as mentioned above, with a grand finale Roast Battle at the Knitting Factory on August 29. There will be a wrap party at Crown Victoria on August 30 (1-6 PM) where folks can nurse their comedy hangovers with daytime drinking and fellowship.
