A Place to Bury Strangers, SPELLLING & more playing Oddities flea market party
A Place to Bury Strangers, Sacred Bones artist SPELLLING, and horror composer Mark Korven will play Brooklyn Bazaar on April 6. This is not your average show, as it’s an afterparty for the Oddities Flea Market and is being put together by Atlas Obscura, the folks behind the ‘In the Veil’ graveyard series and other high-concept, gothy events. If you’re unfamiliar with Oddities, it’s a seasonal market that takes over all three floors of Brooklyn Bazaar, offering “medical history ephemera, anatomical curiosities, natural history items, osteological specimens, taxidermy, home décor, jewelry, one of a kind art, bizarre flair, and more.” As for the afterparty:
After the market closes its doors on Saturday, an exclusive after-hours experience begins as we celebrate all things odd and unusual with a curated night of music and dark performances. Make your way to the top floor ballroom, featuring performances by noise rock saboteurs A Place To Bury Strangers, horror score composer Mark Korven with an instrument of his own creation, The Apprehension Engine, and bewitching chanteuse SPELLLING.
Down below, you’ll find a maze of atmospheric lounge rooms, unexpected performers, a spirit photography photo booth, dark dance DJs, and more to keep you entertained late into the night.
