A Tribe Called Quest played ‘SNL’ with Busta Rhymes & Consequence (video)

A Tribe Called Quest made a triumphant appearance on Saturday Night Live last night (11/12), paying tribute to fallen member Phife and playing two tracks off their fantastic, just-released final album, We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service. The first performed “We the People” where a mural of Phife was displayed when they played the recording of his verse; Busta Rhymes and Consequence joined ATCQ on “The Space Program.” Both were politically charged with Q-Tip, saying “I think we stuck here…what are you gonna do tomorrow when you wake up?” Watch both videos below.

It was, or course, the first SNL since the election, and the cold open had Kate McKinnon, in Hillary Clinton garb, performing a straight cover of Leonard Cohen‘s “Hallelujah,” at the end simply saying “I’m not giving up, and neither should you. Live from New York…” Elsewhere in the episode, which was hosted by Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock made an appearance in a sketch about watching Election Night results. Watch those, and a few other sketches from the episode, below.
