The Brooklyn location of House of Vans is sadly in its final year, but fortunately, the venue is going out with the bang. Its final season kicked off last night (6/14) with headliner Action Bronson. The premise of these shows is that the headliner curates the openers, who at this show were Darnell Williams and B.A.G. (aka Blimes and Gifted Gab). Bronson played a bunch of fan faves and did a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” and though he’s often been known to toss tons of weed into the crowd, this time the rapper-turned-food-personality tossed cheesesteaks into the crowd. He also signed a fan’s copy of his F*ck, That’s Delicious: An Annotated Guide to Eating Well book.

To commemorate the end of House of Vans Brooklyn, Smith Street Tattoo was on hand last night, giving away t-shirts that said “House of Vans 2010-2018.” Pictures of last night are in the gallery above.

Bronson next plays NYC at Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World Fest on July 21 in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park with The Soul Rebels and more TBA. It’s free.

The next House of Vans Brooklyn show is Slowdive on June 30 with openers Farrows and Vorhees. RSVP is closed.
