Ad Hoc

AdHoc left Webster Hall, booking Knockdown Center, Villain, Irving, Warsaw & much more

Ric Leichtung, known mostly for DIY venue booking through his company AdHoc, added Webster Hall to his resume around three years ago, in conjunction with Webster Hall separating from Bowery Presents. Though AdHoc continued to book shows all over Brooklyn over the past three years, Ric worked at Webster as part of a booking team that also included talent buyer Alex Rossiter. Today it was announced that Bowery Presents is not only involved in Webster Hall’s booking again, their new parent company AEG has teamed with Barclays Center to completely buy the historic club.

Meanwhile, we’ll never know if Ric and Alex would have kept their jobs at Webster because both of them silently left the club to focus completely on AdHoc just a few weeks ago.

Today Alex broke the news of his own new job, via this email to associates:

Greetings – I’m very excited to finally announce that I’ve officially accepted a talent buying position with AdHoc, and will be focusing on, but not limited to, 1,000+ capacity events at the venues listed below.

Knockdown Center (Queens) –
Irving Plaza –
Warsaw –
Villain – new location,
Union Temple Of Brooklyn –

Looking forward to working with you. Thanks.

For those keeping score, AEG now owns or exclusively books NYC clubs Webster Hall, Playstation Theater, Starland Ballroom (in NJ), Terminal 5, Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Rough Trade, and the new Brooklyn Steel (which ironically was sort of going to help fill the void left when Bowery Presents lost the Webster Hall contract, but now Bowery via AEG gets both).

AdHoc won’t be helping out with any of that, but will be booking shows at Knockdown Center, Villain, Alphaville, Baby’s All Right, Brooklyn Bazaar, Good Room, Knitting Factory, Knockdown Center, Market Hotel, National Sawdust, Our Wicked Lady, Park Church Co-op, Saint Vitus Bar, Shea Stadium, Sunnyvale, Trans-Pecos, Union Pool, Union Temple of Brooklyn, and Live Nation controlled venues Warsaw and Irving Plaza. (yes, AdHoc can put your show in any of those places!).
