AEG Live acquiring Bowery Presents

NYC-based independent promoter Bowery Presents is being acquired by global concert promoter AEG Live, reports Billboard. Details have not been disclosed.

Founded in 1993, Bowery Presents operates NYC clubs Bowery Ballroom, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Mercury Lounge, Terminal 5, Rough Trade, and presents shows at other venues like Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden, Beacon Theatre, Town Hall, Brooklyn Bowl, Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre and more. (Bowery runs venues in other cities too.) AEG books venues and runs festivals like NYC’s new Panorama festival, among many other events around the world, and they also own Goldenvoice, which puts on festivals like Coachella, Firefly, FYF and more.

This news comes a month after it broke that Panorama competitor Govenors Ball was acquired by Bowery Presents competitor Live Nation.
