Afropunk 2018 Saturday pics (Kaytranada, The Internet, fashion, more)

After a string of rainy weekends, it was nothing but sunshine and blue skies as Afropunk Festival kicked off its 2018 edition on Saturday (8/25). Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park once again played host to a diverse crowd dressed in wild, eclectic fashion, there to take in art, activism, and music from Kaytranada, The Internet, Miguel, JPEGMAFIA, Smino, Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., and more. Delays on the Green stage added some unforeseen set time conflicts to Saturday – the crowd thinned noticeably by the time Kaytranada took the stage after 10 PM, over an hour after scheduled.

Check out pictures from the first day of Afropunk in the gallery above, and stay tuned for more from the festival. UPDATE: see our pictures from Sunday at Afropunk HERE and pictures focusing on the people of the festival HERE.
