Against Me! played Brooklyn Steel with Bleached & Dirty Nil (pics, setlist)

Having toured with Green Day earlier this year, Against Me! are now on a headlining tour with very solid support from Bleached and The Dirty Nil, having just played Brooklyn Steel on Saturday (10/14) and Asbury Park’s Stone Pony on Sunday (10/15). At the Brooklyn show, they played a 28-song set heavy on 2002’s Reinventing Axl Rose (which they’re playing in full at The Fest soon) and 2014’s career-reboosting Transgender Dysphoria Blues, plus plenty of last year’s Shape Shift With Me, other career-spanning favorites, a Tom Petty cover, and a cover of The Mountain Goats’ “Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton,” which AM! singer Laura Jane Grace is contributing to the upcoming Mountain Goats tribute album.

Pictures of the Brooklyn show are in the gallery above. Setlist and a video of the Petty cover from the Asbury Park show, below.

While in NYC on Saturday, Laura Jane Grace also performed a kid-friendly set as part of the “Genderful!: Exploring Gender Through Art” show at Brooklyn Central Library. That’s the same location the BV-presented music supervision panel happens this coming Monday (10/23).
