AJJ, Kimya Dawson & Shellshag touring together, add East Coast dates & more

Anti-folk vet Kimya Dawson broke her silence with a new song and some select shows earlier this year, and now she’s about to embark on some pretty extensive touring with two other long-running, DIY-minded acts, AJJ (who are co-headlining) and Shellshag. That’s a really great bill. The three of them are starting a West Coast tour together this Thursday (8/2), and they’ve announced that they’ll also do a mostly-East Coast/Midwest run together this fall. One leg of the fall dates is with additional support from Laura Stevenson, and another leg is with Rozwell Kid.

AJJ, Kimya, Shellshag, and Rozwell Kid will all be on the bill for the Brooklyn show happening October 14 at Warsaw. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/3) at 10 AM. All dates (including Woodstock, NY) are on the two tour posters below.

AJJ also just digitally released a new compilation titled Ugly Spiral: Lost Works 2012-2016, which collects “never-before-heard studio cuts, live favorites, songs previously only available on vinyl, and alternate takes of album highlights.” You can stream the whole thing below. It’ll be out on vinyl on September 14 (pre-order).
