Alamo Drafthouse Lower Manhattan location postponed till summer 2020

Alamo Drafthouse‘s long-in-the-works Lower Manhattan location was supposed to open in 2018 but then postponed till 2019. Last year came and went and The New York Post reports that the opening has been postponed to Summer 2020. The 28 Liberty Street location is just a few blocks from both the World Trade Center/Occulus and South Street Seaport, and the Post says the delay “is likely due to the complexity of construction several floors below ground in a landmarked building.”

Meanwhile, the Staten Island Alamo and its Flying Guillotine Bar (in partnership with Wu Tang’s RZA), was supposed to open last year as well but is still “coming soon.”

The Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse, which has been open since 2016, is expanding with nine more theaters which are expected to open this year.

As they say, stay tuned.
