Defeater frontman Derek Archambault’s alt-country band Alcoa is releasing a split EP with new-ish St. Louis band Choir Vandals on November 4 via Bridge 9 (pre-order). You can listen to a track from each right now. Alcoa’s “What A Fool” is full of country signifiers like the slide guitar and the twang in Derek’s voice, while Choir Vandals’ “Lucifer Yellow” is more of an indie rocker with singer Austin McCutchen’s Will Sheff-esque baritone leading the way.
