Aldous Harding captivated at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Tiny Ruins (pics)

Music Hall of Williamsburg was as packed as I’ve ever seen it for Aldous Harding‘s show on Monday night (9/30). It was also among the quietest shows there I’ve ever experienced, with the crowd rapt and hanging onto every note. The core of the set was a big chunk of her fantastic current album, Designer, including “Fixture Picture,” “Zoo Eyes,” “The Barrel,” and the title track. Unlike her last Brooklyn show, she also played a few songs from Party at the start and end of her set, but finished, like she did at Rough Trade, with new song “Old Peel.” No “Right Down the Line,” though, sadly, but she was just terrific.

I arrived too late to catch fellow New Zealander Tiny Ruins‘ opening set, but our photographer did not. Check out pictures from the whole night in the gallery above. If Aldous’ tour hits your town, go if you can.
