Alex Cameron’s saxophonist Roy Molloy saves drowning surfer in Rockaways
Roy Molloy can add “good samaritan” to his list of credits that includes Alex Cameron’s saxophonist and business partner, and stool, crane and car enthusiast. He helped rescue a young surfer at the Rockaways on Sunday (9/16). “The young guy’s mom and dad were sorta yelling and screaming for help,” Roy told CBS New York. “He was floundering, drowning. I don’t think he would’ve been able to get himself in.” Way to go, Roy! CBS New York notes this was the third person rescued on Sunday, with strong rip currents do to Hurricane Florence and no lifeguards on duty after Labor Day.
You can watch Roy on the CBS New York news report below.
Roy is probably not gonna talk about this so I will. Today he saved a heavy set boy in rough conditions at Rockaway Beach. Jumped in off the rocks and got to him before he drowned. Didn’t think twice. The guy is a full time operator. Catch his interview on eye witness news❤️

Much love you guys. Please stay in the patrolled areas at the beach if you're not a strong swimmer https://t.co/cQhLJHFm1F
