Alex Lahey signs to Dead Oceans, shares video for "Wes Anderson"

Melbourne indie rocker Alex Lahey released her very good debut EP B-Grade University last year (and we named her one of the best new rock artists of the year), and now it’s been announced that Alex signed to Dead Oceans. That makes her labelmates with Mitski, Kevin Morby, Slowdive, and more. Congrats Alex!

The EP gets a digital re-release via Dead Oceans today, and she’s also got a video for “Wes Anderson” from the EP (which means there are now videos for four of the five songs). It’s a quirky video, starring Alex and her plank friend. It was shot, directed, and edited by Jam Nawaz. Check it out above (via Line of Best Fit).

As mentioned, Alex is also touring around SXSW, (where, among other shows, she’ll play a BrooklynVegan & Sound on Sound Fest Day Party on Saturday at Cheer Up Charlies) including her BrooklynVegan-presented NYC debut. Her NYC shows are on March 24 at Rough Trade (tickets) and March 25 at Mercury Lounge (tickets). All dates are listed below.
