Alice Bag played Our Wicked Lady (pics)

Despite her status as a punk icon and pioneer who could have easily hung out elsewhere before her set, Alice Bag was warm and engaging with the fans at her show Tuesday (8/7) at Brooklyn’s Our Wicked Lady, taking time to chat and pose for pictures with anyone who asked. The onetime singer for LA punk greats The Bags rocked out in the audience to both opening bands with genuine admiration before taking the stage herself. Alice delivered a riveting performance, showing more energy than some bands with members half her age. With a career as a musician, author, activist, and educator spanning over 40 years, Bag — who released her second solo album back in March via Don Giovanni — shows no signs of slowing down, and is as fiercely passionate today as she ever was.

Pictures from the whole night (openers Choked Up and Ratas En Zelo included) are in the gallery above. Alice plays NYC again on Friday (8/10) at Mercury Lounge with Full Bush and Fruit and Flowers (tickets).
