Alphaville temporarily shut down by Health Dept, tonight's show moved

Bushwick music venue, restaurant, and bar Alphaville has been temporarily shut down by the NYC Health Department. An inspection on Friday (3/1) saw the kitchen rack up several “critical violations,” including evidence of vermin. Full inspection results are available through the Department of Health’s Inspection Database. Hopefully Alphaville will reopen soon; meanwhile, Tuesday’s (3/5) show with Pink Mexico, Shilpa Ray, Darkwing, and Lost Boy ? has been moved just over half a mile away to Market Hotel.

Other upcoming shows scheduled for Alphaville this week include Fruit & Flowers, Parrot Dream, Winded & ARThandlers on Wednesday 3/6, The Prits, Kevin Hairs & Psycho Pat on Thursday 3/7, Pollens, Warpark & LAUGH on Friday 3/8, and Future Punx, Bodega, and Public Practice on Saturday 3/9. Later this month, Black Midi are to play 3/21 and Bambara 3/22, among other shows. No word yet on their status; stay tuned for more.
