alt-J played Forest Hills Stadium in surround sound with Kamasi Washington (pics, video, setlist)

Right before both artists played Firefly Music Festival, alt-J and Kamasi Washington graced NYC with their presences at Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium on Friday (6/15). As promised, alt-J played in surround sound, and the anticipation of a night of spectacular sound did not disappoint. They had speakers hooked up all around the top ring of the stadium, and it really created an effect unlike your average show. Their light show was pretty spectacular too. They played a good chunk of songs from all three of their albums, focusing most heavily on their beloved 2012 debut, An Awesome Wave. Setlist and a video below, and pictures of both them and Kamasi Washington are in the gallery above.

Kamasi is releasing his new double album, Heaven and Earth, this Friday (6/22) via Young Turks.
