Alt-J

Alt-J working on LP3, playing festivals (including Panorama)

Alt-J have yet to announce details about the followup to their 2014 sophomore album This Is All Yours, but it looks like it might be coming soon. The band posted some in-studio pictures, including the one above with a massive string section recording at Abbey Road Studios. They’ve also got one with horn players. Check out a few more below.

Drummer Thom Sonny Green told NME, “There’s been a lot of ideas. We’re very excited about it, I think it’s going to be pretty interesting. I feel like it’ll be different, but I don’t know. It’s funny – we write together so well and it comes pretty naturally and pretty quick, but I can’t predict it. We write what we feel.” Stay tuned for more details.

Meanwhile, Alt-J have a handful of festival dates coming up this year, and they just announced their first US date of 2017: NYC’s Panorama festival. They headline day 2 (7/29), along with Tame Impala. That day also includes Belle & Sebastian, Nicolas Jaar, Vince Staples, Mitski, Pinegrove, and more.
