Alvvays tip their hat to Television Personalities on shimmering "Plimsoll Punks"
Alvvays‘ new album, Antisocialites, is out September 8, and is an improvement on their 2014 debut in almost every way, with stronger songs and just the right level of shimmer on the production. The band have just released the super catchy “Plimsoll Punks,” a song they say is a nod to Television Personalities’ classic critique of bandwagon-jumping, “Part Time Punks.” You can stream that, and listen to the pleasingly Beach House-y “Dreams Tonight,” below.
The band’s fall tour starts with September’s Music Tastes Good festival and hits NYC a few days after at Brooklyn Steel on October 3 with Nap Eyes. Tickets for that show are on sale now. They’ll be in Europe before that — all dates are listed below.
