Influential emo vets American Football recently announced their first album since 1999 and shared the lead single “I’ve Been So Lost For So Long,” which immediately had hopes very high for this album. Now they dropped a second song, “Give Me The Gun,” which keeps those hopes just as high. Like the previous single, it basically sounds like what you’d expect American Football to sound like now, given Mike Kinsella’s recent music as Owen and the inventive-ness of American Football’s recent live shows. Mike tells NPR the song is “done in [his] best Bernard Sumner impersonation” (not the first time he’s namedropped New Order). Listen here:

The album drops October 21 via Polyvinyl. The band will also tour, including a big NYC show on January 28 at Terminal 5. Tickets for that show are available.
