Amy Schumer interrupted a comic at Carolines ++ tix on sale for Pier 17

Amy Schumer made a surprise appearance at NYC club Carolines on Tuesday (5/8)… and she interrupted an up-and-coming comic to do so. The comic in question was Brendan Sagalow, and according to his account of Tuesday night’s events on his podcast, “I’m five minutes into my set, I’m doing some crowd work, and then from off to the side, I hear, ‘Hey Brendan! It’s Amy Schumer! Can I do 10 minutes?’ in the middle of my set. I look over and it’s Amy, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, of course!’ I had no other reaction.” Some have called Amy rude, but Brendan was into it. “I’m like, ‘This is a good thing! This is a great thing!’ Everybody thinks I’m friends with Amy, she knows my name, she said she follows me on Instagram, which she mentioned,” he said.

Amy said she made the interrupted appearance to practice her monologue for SNL, which she hosts this Saturday (5/12) with musical guest Kacey Musgraves. (The following, final week of this season is with host Tina Fey and musical guest Nicki Minaj.)

Amy also plays opening night of the Seaport District’s new Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series on August 1. The second night (8/2) is with Kings of Leon. Tickets for both shows go on Live Nation/Ticketmaster/Bandsintown presales today (5/10) at 10 A (password = PIER).
