Amy Schumer read a letter to Tampa (where she got booed for Trump comments -- watch MSG video)

After an opening set by standup comedian MADONNA, Amy Schumer played Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (10/18). Playing on home turf, the MSG crowd was a little more with her than at this past weekend’s Tampa stop on her tour, where she was reportedly booed and had around 200 people walk out after she called Donald Trump an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” At MSG, she paused to read a slightly ironic open letter to Tampa, which is as follows (via People):

I’ve written an open letter to Tampa and I’d like to read it tonight. Dearest Tampa, I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now. How could I think it was OK to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?

After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy. Both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people — who’ve been tricked into it!

And Tampa, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said that he was an orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster. Shouldn’t have said that. I will never again say that he is an orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster!

She added, “I look forward to putting this all behind us in couple weeks when Hillary Clinton is out motherfucking president!” You can watch video of this (via Gothamist) below.

Amy’s tour dates continue through the end of the year when she played a New Year’s Eve show at the Smoothie King Center (!!!) in New Orleans. In related news:
