And The Kids releasing new LP & touring (stream "Butterfingers")

Western Mass indie rockers And The Kids are releasing their third album, When This Life Is Over, on February 22 via Signature Sounds. The band produced the album themselves, and a handful of the songs came directly from the bedroom demos that predated the album. “The sound quality on those songs is so shittily good; it’s just us being so raw and so alone in the bedroom, writing without really even thinking we were going to use it,” said vocalist/guitarist Hannah Mohan. “We recorded them right away, and there was a really strong feeling of ‘Don’t touch them again.’”

We’re premiering the new song “Butterfingers,” which the band tell us is “about society’s restraints and boundaries. It’s about people who take different paths and the judgement placed on both sides, not only judgement from the society but from ourselves as well. It’s about trying to drown out self doubt.” It’s a very catchy dose of mid-tempo indie rock, something that fans of Lucy Dacus or Hop Along will probably dig. Check it out below.

And The Kids also have lots of tour dates coming up, including a Brooklyn show on April 6 at Baby’s All Right with Bat House (tickets). All dates are listed below.
