Anderson .Paak played Hammerstein Ballroom (pics, video, setlist)

Anderson .Paak played Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday (2/22), the NYC stop of his tour supporting last year’s great Oxnard. As always, Paak was a true performer on Friday night. He raps, sings, dances, drums, and the whole thing was a total spectacle. He played almost the same setlist as the Chicago show we caught, including a good chunk of the new album, older favorites, the NxWorries song “Suede,” his Kaytranada collab “Glowed Up,” and his set-closing Mac Miller collab “Dang!”. That made for two consecutive shows at Hammerstein Ballroom that ended with Mac Miller tributes, following the one Vince Staples did one night earlier.

The show was opened by Tayla Parx (who’s also a professional songwriter that has worked with Paak as well as Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, and more). Funk Flex DJed between sets. Pictures (including one of the setlist) are in the gallery above.
