Anna Meredith shares "Sawbones" video, announces North American tour
British electronic musician and composer Anna Meredith released FIBS last year, a dizzying record that really showcases her inventive use of synthesizers. I described lead track “Sawbones” as “a fireworks display of technicolor synths that first climbs upwards before exploding into an array of bright arpeggiations punctuated by drum bursts, going off just like the big booms during Macy’s Fourth of July display. It just keeps going, dizzyingly, from there, ratcheting up the thrills like an Action Park ride that leaves you breathless if not a little bruised.” That song now has a music video, directed by Foxall Studios, that has her and her band performing on on the roof of London’s Royal Festival Hall, with some trippy, ecstatic effects added. Anna Meredith has also announced a North American tour in March that kicks off March 14 in Bentonville, AR and also stops in Chicago, Toronto, MOntreal, DC, NYC, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The NYC show happens at National Sawdust on 3/20 and tickets are on sale now.
