Antibalas on tour, playing two Brooklyn shows with offshoot group Here Lies Man
Brooklyn Afrobeat vets Antibalas released Where the Gods Are Peace via Daptone last fall — their sixth album and first in five years. It found them in top form and you can stream the whole thing below. The ensemble have tour dates starting this month in Washington, DC and have two shows at Brooklyn Bowl on February 16 & 17. Tickets are on sale now and all tour dates are listed below.
Both of those Brooklyn Bowl shows are with Here Lies Man, the group led by Antibalas member Marcos Garcia, who melted down afrobeat, early metal / heavy psych and cosmic funk on their massively groovy and rocking debut album which came out last year. If you haven’t checked that out, you can stream the whole thing below. Dap Kings guitarist/emcee Binky Gripite plays the 2/16 show as well.
The Brooklyn shows are part of a winter tour for Here Lies Man, which includes dates in L.A. and San Francisco before NYC, and after they head to Europe. All dates are listed below.
