Arabrot made a video for "The Gospel" (watch)

Norway’s genre-defying Arabrot released their excellent new album The Gospel earlier this year on Fysisk Format (order yours). Here’s what we said about it:

Norway’s impossible-to-classify Arabrot have been wildly prolific for over a decade, and it seems pretty clear that The Gospel is a special record in their discography. Main member Kjetil Nernes uses cleanly-sung vocals more often than he did on recent releases, and musically it’s just a heavy dark rock record. If you like goth rock, alternative rock, sludge metal or industrial, you’re gonna find at least a few things to like here. Kjetil’s working with a truly all-star cast that includes Holy Money-era Swans drummer Ted Parsons, core Sunn O))) member Stephen O’Malley, Current 93/Nurse With Wound/Faust collaborator Andrew Liles, electropop singer Karin Park, and Serena-Maneesh frontman Emil Nikolaisen. That should give you a pretty good idea of the breadth of styles explored here.

Arabrot have since made a video for the title track (directed by Conrad Myhre Dahl), which premieres in this post. The video compiles the kind of war footage that’s often associated with Arabrot’s imagery, with explosions syncing up with the song’s snare cracks. The whole thing is pretty creepy, much like the song itself. Check it out below.
