Arcade Fire covered John Lennon at Lollapalooza aftershow (pics, video)

On Saturday (8/5) night, before headlining Lollapalooza on Sunday, Arcade Fire played a much smaller Chicago show at Metro. The intimate Lollapalooza aftershow was, like the Brooklyn show the band played at Grand Prospect Hall, in celebration of their new album, Everything Now. The setlist highlighted the new songs, and included the live debut of Everything Now track “Good God Damn.” Arcade Fire also treated Metro to the live debut of “Dimensions” from Her. They closed out the show with a cover of John Lennon’s “Mind Games,” to which they added bits of Radiohead’s “Karma Police,” David Bowie’s “Oh You Pretty Things,” and their own “Wake Up.” Watch videos of “Mind Games” and “Dimensions” from Saturday night’s show, and see the setlist, below. Pictures are in the gallery above.

If you aren’t at Lollapalooza, you can stream Arcade Fire’s set live at 9:45 PM EST/8:45 PM CT.

Arcade Fire will be back in NYC to headline Madison Square Garden in September (tickets) as part of their tour in support of Everything Now.
