I drool at Segways, but it is super rude for people to ride those (and rollerblades) inside of establishments. Stores have insurance, and they can bump into people inside of a bodega with tiny aisles. And I bet if the owner says something, the rider would probably have a 'tude. This is why as a New Yorker, I am so hesitant to purchase one because I cannot on God's EARTH see locking this thing up and trusting that it will not draw the attention of some thief.

Plus being a black female, I do not fit the typical profile of an owner (white male), and will thus draw MORE attention and probably get ticketed. Not because I am black, but because my not fiting the ptofile of a rider will probably draw attention to the 'illegal' segway. I am so jealous of owners because NO other form of alternative transportation that I own matches up to this awesome thing!
