The 2004 College Music Awards award ceremony will take place at Irving Plaza on December 16th. The Walkmen are headlining. Other acts not announced, but there will be 'special guests.'
Nominees include:
BAND OF THE YEAR: Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Something Corporate, Wilco, and Modest Mouse.
BEST MALE ROCK ARTIST: Ben Kweller, Ben Folds, Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, and Damien Rice.
BEST FEMALE ROCK ARTIST: Liz Phair, Norah Jones, Bjork, PJ Harvey, and Nellie McKay.
BEST ALBUM: Ocean Avenue – Yellowcard, Feels Like Home – Norah Jones, Where You Want To Be – Taking Back Sunday, Good News for People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse, and Franz Ferdinand – Franz Ferdinand.
HIP-HOP AWARD: Kanye West, The Roots, Dizzee Rascal, The Black Eyed Peas, and Danger Mouse.
Plus, they'll announce their ICON award winner.
I have no idea who the special guests will be. If it's any of those nominees, then good for The Walkmen since they're being called the headliner.
This is open to the public, and tickets are only $10.
