Wow, I didn't think any other bloggers were even aware of Darrell's murder. I grew up listening to Pantera and learned to play guitar listening to my Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven cassettes. Darrell was a great guitar player and a crazy-- and hilarious-- mofo and my friends and I smoked a lot of weed listening to Pantera. Anselmo must feel like pure shit after all the petty jive he and the brothers have said about each other in the past couple of years. I can't even imagine what Vince is going through (and will go through). The shooter sounded like he was basically out of his gourd and wanted to sue Pantera for stealing his lyrics. Thoroughly FUBAR.

i didnt grow up listening to pantera i recently found out about them in 1999 when i was wathcing cartoons and i saw the words "music by pantera" apear on the screen and a wilde solo goin on. i was like wow!! whos that??!! that inspired me to play metal. i was only 8 i took up guitar when i was 12 still remembering that solo in november of 2004 my friend brought his pantera c.d.s to school and i remembered that name and said "hey i remember that song!" he told me that panter broke up in 2002 and dime and vin started damge plan so i went home asked my dad if i could go to a damgeplan gig when they rolled into town. he said yes but two weeks after that on december 8th at 10:00 pm nathan gale took away the man who inspired me to play guitar. his music has prevented me from depression i wont forget that day i first heard pantera. i never knew dime but he still lives in my heart and i will always know he got me threw hard times in the past year and when i heard them on t.v. rest in peace dime god bless you and your family
