Kasabian Playing Irving Plaza

Kasabian

Kasabian, the latest British sensation, are playing Irving Plaza with The Music on February 17th. They are definitely the least hyped big British band in NY right now. They recently played Bowery Ballroom and I don’t think it sold out.

Their album isn’t out in the USA, so I don’t think they’re on the radio yet, but I’m pretty sure you’ll be hearing them on KRock by the time February 17th comes around.

NME is the place to find out more about Kasabian. You can even listen to the whole album and watch a video.

Stereogum didn’t go to the Bowery show, but his friend did.

Ultragrrrl was at the Bowery show and said it was actually pretty packed.

Pitchfork no like, but the Guardian says they’re the second coming of The Stone Roses. (speaking of The Stone Roses)

‘Any band who thinks it’s a good idea to sound like the Happy Mondays should be immediately killed, chopped into small pieces and sprinkled liberally into the nearest shark-infested waters.’ Drowned in Sound don’t mess around

The BBC says “Kasabian play Stone Roses / Happy Mondays indie rock with catchy choruses mixed with Chemical Brothers style beats. The songs run smoothly into each other with well crafted synth heavy musical interludes”

Tickets are not on sale yet, although they are for the same show in Boston.
