This post is a month too late for NYC residents. Sorry about that. Bonfire Madigan already completed three of her four residency dates at Knitting Factory this month. Since 4 minus 3 equals 1, we've still got one more chance to catch her on January 25th (that is if you're not already going to Bright Eyes at Town Hall, Ted Leo at Rothko, or Buck 65 at Sin-e). Ok, so that's not a very good date either. Luckily she's continuing the residency trend by doing ANOTHER residency in NYC. Next time it's at Pianos and it's Feb 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Watch Pianos' website for more details.
Her long stay in New York is to record her newest music with Hal Willner.
According to her/their official website, ".....Bonfire Madigan is an avant-pop, chamber-rock experiment. A configuration of combustible collaborators orbiting the songs and spit of Madigan Shive. Madigan ignites the Bonfire with a shebeen of soul-art-string-sounds."
