SXSE Tsunami benefit Sunday
On Sunday January 9, 2005, local New York City artists, bartenders, bands, djs and numerous others are throwing an all day benefit to raise funds for victims. We feel that after 9/11, there was such an outpouring of compassion for New York City, we owe it to the world to pass that consideration on.
We are calling the benefit SXSE; South by Southeast (as in SE Asia). It will be held in a 2500 sq ft loft space in Long Island City and thus far, high profile local acts such as Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Vic Thrill, and The Fresh Kills have confirmed along with a slew of DJ acts with large followings.
Plus: Slot Car Racing + Gambling, Prizes, a Kissing Booth, and much much more. Numerous raffle prizes have been graciously donated by The Knitting Factory, Bust Magazine, March Records, Sweet Action Magazine, Le Grand Magistery Records, Mark Cosmetics, Vessel Gallery, Rapture NYC, Moist and Tasty, Ringlet Salon, Subtexture, and many others.
All proceeds will go to AmeriCares – a charity which we researched and discovered 100% of their donations are going to Asia. This is the worst natural disaster of our life time. We hope you will work with us to do what we can to help.
