Tibet House U.S.'s 15th Annual Benefit Concert

The Black Keys, Tibet House Vice President and composer Philip Glass, former Phish front man Trey Anastasio, singer Nellie McKay, and Marc Anthony Thompson of Chocolate Genius are the first artists to join the line-up of Tibet House U.S.’s 15th Annual Benefit Concert, which will take place at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 7:30 PM. Actress Uma Thurman is the event’s Honorary Chair.

The concert assembles some of the biggest names in contemporary music and offers audiences a mix of unprecedented musical collaborations and solo offerings. The Tibet House Benefit Concert commemorates the Monlam Prayer Festival traditionally held in Lhasa at the time of the Tibetan New Year. The festival drew vast numbers of monks, citizens and pilgrims from all over Tibet who gathered together to pray for world peace and prosperity.

Concert-only tickets are $30-$108 and can be purchased by calling CarnegieCharge at (212) 247-7800 or in-person at the Carnegie Hall Box Office and are on sale now.

A fundraising reception with the event’s Honorary Chairperson and artists will be held following the performance. Tickets for the reception are $375 ($700 for two) and include prime seats at the concert. To reserve tickets for the reception call Tibet House at (212) 807-0563
