Fellow Kimya Dawson fan, Largehearted Boy, brought to my attention the addition of Kimya Dawson to the Internet Archive. Currently two shows are available for download:
2005-01-09, Portland [mp3,ogg,flac]
2004-09-09, Falmouth [mp3,ogg,flac]
If you haven't checked out the archive yet, you're missing out. Basically artists agree that their live shows can be posted there, and the archive hosts the files for free in MP3, lossless (FLAC, SHN), and streaming format.
Other recent additions to the archive include Magnolia Electric Co., Liars, Rana (no shows posted yet), A Silver Mt Zion, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, The Blood Brothers, John Vanderslice, and a whole bunch more. In total, they're currently hosting 20,249 shows by 857 artists.
On their homepage, they highlight some "staff pics," in which this Ben Lee show from Knitting Factory in June is featured. (see Ben at Tonic next week). I agree. Check it out, Modest Mouse cover included.
