Five free instore performances by Superwolf (Bonnie "Prince" Billy & Matt Sweeney) in NYC today (Saturday March 5th, 2005), and I was too lazy to try for the first four, and I got to the last one at Other Music too late. Arrived at 8:30 for the 9:00 show to find a line wrapped around the corner on to Lafayette. Waited anyway, but didn't get in. Two photos of others in my predicament.
Their April 21st performance at Bowery Ballroom is also sold out. Luckily I have a ticket to that. The rest of their tour dates here
Read the positive Pitchfork Superwolf review and the negative Stylus one.
Order Superwolf from Insound.

I went to the Kim's instore, got there at 6:40 for a 7 start. It was so full already I was basically just inside the front doors. Saw three songs but then had to leave because it was getting scary in there.

saw the first one in williamsburg. . . it was nice, save for some rude employees. . . definitely worth getting up early for.
