The Raveonettes Shows & Music

The Raveonettes

From Rolling Stone:

The Raveonettes will release their second full-length album, Pretty in Black, on May 3rd.
Co-produced by singer, guitarist and songwriter Sune Rose Wagner and pop legend Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, the Go-Go’s), Pretty features more ambience and less distortion than its predecessor, Chain Gang of Love.

“That reverb was so big and nice, I forgot about the distortion,” Wagner told Rolling Stone during the album’s recording sessions in November. “I thought, ‘I have to add some later.’ But once we got into the studio, we just used a lot of the guitar sounds that I got at Richard’s house, because they sounded so good.”

Joining Wagner and vocalist Sharin Foo on the set is bassist and new member Anders Christensen. Ronnie Spector, Suicide’s Martin Rev and former Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker make guest appearances.

The first single, “Love in a Trashcan,” is due to radio in mid-March, while the band will launch a U.S. tour in support of the release on April 26th in New York.”

Tickets are on sale for that New York show and the zillion other Raveonettes shows happening in the NYC area (except the June 11th one at Webster Hall). The show on April 27th is my fave – Morningwood and Saints & Lovers opening. More dates at Rolling Stone.
