Hiro Ballroom Racist? | (and the Bitter Blogger)
The Bloc Party hating, M. Ward doubting, music critic bashing (ironic?) (who was later confronted by Amy Phillips), Columbia University going, 'I_AM_JAPAN,' won tickets to the Beck show at Hiro Ballroom...
"0715: They finally open the doors. We enter Hiro, and we get it. Asian themed. The stage is a horrible wooden facade, with a dragon spewing smoke from its eyes and mouth. Stereotypes abound. Innumberable paper lanterns. Nonsense Japanese script on the walls. Stereotypes abound. Red walls and faux-bamboo mezzanine. Stereotypes abound, albeit confused ones."

Hm...somewhat interesting blog to read. Of course, people can write what they want, but I happened to have liked M. Ward's performance at Bowery, also liked the Hiro Ballroom (is it wrong for me to think that nonsensical English writing on Japanese things is funny?), lanterns make me happy, didn't care much about hurting feet/coldness while waiting around for Beck. Maybe I'm too easily pleased.
