Mudvayne (not LOA) @ Roseland, NYC | Pics
Last night was one of those nights when everything went wrong. To begin with, I had to sell my Nouvelle Vague tickets. I was able to, but it was unfortunate. Who knows when they’ll play again. I sold the tickets so I could celebrate my friend’s birthday at the Life of Agony / Mudvayne show at Roseland. Our main (and only) motivation for going was to see Life of Agony (LOA), a band we’ve been listening to for almost 15 years.
Around noon I realized that the doors opened at 6:00. What show starts at six?? I somehow figured out that the first band was going on at 7:00 (which ended up being wrong. they started at 6:30). Now I had to seriously rush to get there after going home from work. Then another friend of ours bailed. Now we had an extra ticket.
Our plan was to get to the show by 8:00, which we thought would be plenty of time to see both LOA and Mudvayne. At 7:00 we left my Brooklyn apartment in a car. We were going to be early. It was right about the time we entered Manhattan that I realized I forgot the tickets. We turned around, got the tickets, and eventually made it to Roseland, and parked, by 8:40. There was nobody to sell the extra ticket to, and Life of Agony had just left the stage. It wasn’t even 9:00, and the third of four bands (a band that sold out two nights in a row at Irving Plaza in 2003) was already finished. Ridiculous.
The good news is, I took these pictures of Mudvayne. The bad news is, Mudvayne didn’t really do it for us. We left early and got Indian food.
