Louis XIV is one of those bands everyone hates (except the people paying to fill up large venues to see them play). How long does it take to go from cool to uncool?

I was at a Suicide Girls burlesque show, once. It felt like I'd come home to my girlfriend of five years had decided one evening to try a little strip tease. Super cute, but not very professional. It didn't help half the girls looked about 12. Indie rock's dirty secret is its borderline fascination with pedophilia. See Rivers Cuomo and the way half the people dress, even the dudes.

If they lost their cool just because that pitchfork geek sniggered at their sex talk, then it's really sad. Their music is actually really good. I suppose it's their fault if they push that angle so much, but the quality is much higher than hothotheat for example...
