You know, as much as I disagree with most of what's on that conservative revolution site, I have to agree that Chris Martin's statements are pretty lame. He has every right to not like his boss (I'm a freelancer but I don't like my main client's parent company either). But the next two statements are so over the top that their laughable. Shareholders are the great evils of this modern world? Worse than fascist death squads? Dictators? Smallpox terrorists? Middle-managers? :-)

But worse than that, his reference to "the slavery that we are all under to shareholders" sounds like the shit I used to spout out when I was 16. Go to Mauritania, Chris, and explain to the slaves there that you and they are blood brothers, and that the system you're forced to rock and roll under is akin, in ANY FUCKING WAY, to their life.

I get metaphor. But I'd dare Martin to tell me one way in which his millionaire existence is akin to slavery.

I don't think Coldplay is the next U2 and that they are their own band. Everyone should stop comparing, they aren't that much alike except that I do agree that their outspoken lead singers should be quiet on what's going on in the world when they haven't got a real clue.

Coldplay should be paying royalities to U2 for the use of their sound. The guy even sings like Bono. Delays on the guitar anyone?

U2 has a long history, some great albums, and of course, a unique sound. Many contemporary bands sound like a lot of bands before them. People even compare "The Killers" to "Queen", just because they sound alike. I don't like Coldplay myself, but I love U2. I would also like for people to stop comparing them.

Coldplay do boring songs. Every song they do is a ballade.

If you're a U2 fan then only listen to their songs, or if you're a Coldplay fan then only listen to their songs. You have a problem if you get angry at others "copying", everyone copies. Everyone has opinions, it's best to keep it to youself, and most people are way too in love with their favourite bands....LOL

I'm not a U2 fan cause I never really liked their music...at all....I just became a Coldplay fan and I have been hearing that they "copy" U2. So hearing this I have heard a good amount of U2 songs and Coldplay's songs... Yeah...Yeah, no, not really hearing it guys. Sorry. Just not.

NO contest. U2 - BIGGEST AND GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD EVER. COLDPLAY SONGS SOUND THE SAME. U2 ARE THE BIGGEST GRAMMY AWARD WINNERS OF ALL TIME! U can't compare them. U2 are in a league of their own.

I like both bands. They are at completely different stages in their development. They don't sound the same at all. Off to coldplay tomorrow night. Go see U2 any day.

The only reason Cold Play has a sound is because they stole it from U2. But now that U2 sux, so does Cold Play. That's what ya get for stealin your style.

coldplay suck sweaty balls. they are horrible. the difference is that U2 have Soul. Coldplay have no real message to their muzak. it's just ostentatious crap. U2 have always been direct about what they are communicating.

Coldplay still has to learn to play their instruments 1st.
