Annie @ Hiro Ballroom, NYC
I never made it to the show. How was it?
UPDATE 2: Caryn & Amy of More in the Monitor were not impressed
caryn: Well, she was singing. Badly, I might add. During Me Plus One she was literally croaking.
amy: i think it was piping in vocals for her to sing along to
amy: the absolute worst part was during the verse in heartbeat thought
amy: she sang completely off-key
amy: and then she just skipped the second verse
UPDATE: An interview with Annie in a San Francisco paper (via LHB)

i left at 11:45 and there was no sign of the show starting anytime soon, didn't seem to be any instruments set up on anything. the place was fairly empty too. what time did she eventually go on?

I third Jenny. I left during the third song. I find it hilarious that Vice dares to rip on certain bands as being "comfortable" as they simultaneously put out this talentless bubblegum bs.... though she is a knockout :)

Agreed with Jenny... she rolled out far to late (midnight) and the samples were a bit much, drowning out her voice at the start... once it was corrected, she had mic feedback for most of the rest of the show... if her DJ could get his act together it would have been a much better show... voice is good tho... stage presence beyond her looks needs some work

she was much better a few months ago when she played with a full band

Record is catchy but show was boring. Vocals were buried. Crowd was blah. Four songs in my friend turned me and said, "I can't stay for much more of this." I agreed and we left.
