but damn, that review is harsh.

I haven't heard the song in question yet, so maybe I shouldn't comment (the song may suck just as bad as what the reviewer wrote), but I read that review earlier and it's just like Pitchfork to slam a band that they formerly loved just because their songs are now appearing in commercials and they're selling more records and concert tickets than they used to and so, in typical indie-snob fashion, they have to retreat deeper underground.
Not that there's anything wrong with digging as deep as possible to try to find interesting new music because I do it too and I'm sure most of you do as well, but it really makes me wonder if they like music for the right reasons or if they just wanna appear cooler and more knowledgeable than everyone else. I feel a little hypocritical bashing them since I read that site daily (mainly for their news and reviews) and plus, it's like shooting fish in a barrel at this point, but still, it must be said.
OK, end of rant. Great site, BTW. I read it daily. I can only wonder how you have the time to keep it so up to date. Oh and if this comment comes through on the site twice, I apologize. I had to fix the URL of my blog.

There seems to be a whole hierarchy in indie-rock today that is begining to piss me off -- apparently enough to write about it twice although I supposedly started my blog to keep my family updated on my whereabouts :-)
We can only be thankful for such trendsetters as Pitchfok (sense the irony?).
