Jaymay @ The Living Room, NYC | Pics

Jaymay @ The Living Room

Jaymay is making a lot of noise in the NYC anti-folk scene lately. "Early comparisons have been made to Regina Spektor." These photos are from her final residency show at The Living Room in NYC on May 30th, 2005 in NYC.

Coolfer reports on major label interest.
Gothamist interviewed her.
Gothamist (me) talked about her again.
Central Village saw her play.
Largehearted Boy likes her.
Gopster saw her play.
Blog Soup interviewed her.
Aeki Tuesday saw her.

Tonight (Thursday June 30th, 2005) Jaymay plays Tonic in NYC as part of the Deli's 3rd issue launch party. Nikole Atkins, Langhorne Slim, Sylvie Lewis, and The Jealous Girlfriends are also on the bill. It's a great show if you want to check out some of the more popular mellow artists playing music in NYC.

she has a very unique style. i saw a bunch of A&R guys at the living room for one of her shows, and they all saif that they personally love her but that it would be hard to sign her. I tend to agree, and think that it is in her best interest to develope a little more and not get signed on just a little hype.

She sounds nice. I like "letter"...although I liked it even better when it was called, "Hello" (Lionel Richie). :-)
