Minor Threat Won, Nike Negative Three
Pitchfork and others gave the whole Minor Threat Nike controversy enough coverage, but after reading a great piece on Young Manhattanite, I motivated to write this post and expand even further on Nike's recent losses.
NIKE 0: "It's amazing to me how so many smart people simply don't get it, are defending Nike, and making sweeping generalizations about what "punk" is." [Young Manhattanite]
NIKE -1: Nike pretends to come to CBGBs rescue. [me]
NIKE -2: "If you weren't aware, the NIKEiD studio on Elizabeth St. is invitation only, despite looking like a regular retail shoe boutique from the outside." [Tale of Two Cities]
NIKE -3: "Then the blogger contest started and I got more pissed off." [jen beckman]

Football, Beer, and Dischord
Fox teams up with Minor Threat and successfully eases that dreadful transition into the second quarter. Well, “teams up” might not be an accurate description, but if you were watching the Eagles vs. Broncos game last Sunday on Fox TV you might have caught a snippet of Minor Threat’s swan song, “Salad Days.” Econo staff writer, Justin Moyer, covers the story in the latest edition of econoculture.com. Take a minute and check us out. We’re the web’s newest guide to all aspects of indie culture.
