"Nublu isn't just the name of the bar--it's also the name of owner Ilhan Ersahin's record label. You'll often find him jamming here with his bands Wax Poetic and Lovetrio. Many of the DJs are also his friends, so there's an informal vibe that, coupled with the smooth electronic and world music, oozes mellowness." - Citysearch

Brazilian Girls got their start at Nublu. You'll know them as the band that made one of Coolfer's favorite albums of the year, who headlined Irving Plaza on June 1st, and who are playing Summerstage on July 17th. Nick Harcourt from KCRW called them "one of the most exciting discoveries of the year."

Naturally, Brazilian Girls want to help the people that got them started celebrate their third anniversary:

Mon June 20th: butch morris conducts the nublu orchestra
Tue June 21st: brazilian girls with kudu
Wed June 22nd: wax poetic with elodie o
Thu June 23rd: mauro refosco's forro in the dark with bato's gypsy boogie
Fri June 24th: love trio in dub feat. u-roy
Sat June 25th: our theory feat. erik truffaz with i led three lives
Sun June 26th: real live show feat. bato with idub

Everyone! Check out the Verve Remixed 3 that has a great track remixed by the Brazilian Girls called Just One of Those Things. It's got a blend of classic jazz artists such as Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan mixed with new school remixers like DJ Dangermouse and RJD2. I am strongly reccomending this CD, i just copped it for my dad on fathers day! peace.
