Bloc Party | Tour, Album, Roseland, Videos
It's happened. The Knitting Factory (Sept. 30th, 2004) to Roseland (Sept. 9th, 2005) transformation took a little less than a year. They deserve it, but there's no way I'm going to Roseland.
One Louder has all the September 2005 Bloc Party tour dates and pre-sale information.
Minivegas has a new animated video for Pioneers (animated Bloc Party members included)

Never been to Roseland--why wouldn't you go?

I guess because it's so big and so loud and so expensive and if I consider all that with the fact that I've seen them a bunch of other times, it just doesn't see worth it. That said, I've seen Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, and others there and generally been happy (as were people who went to Sleater Kinney there recently). (don't be surprised if I end up going).

Gotcha. I'm in Philly, so we've got The Electric Factory to handle the big and loud and expensive. They played the Trocadero here in June and were awesome. I did a review of the show here. When I saw their Glastonbury set, they seemed out of place at such a huge gathering and the set felt uninspired. Maybe it was just nerves, but their music seems to work better in a smaller venue. I will definitely put up with the larger crowd to see them again.
Silent Alarm is the album of the year so far, in this humble blogger's opinion.

This is also the same night as the National and CYHSY show at the Bowery Ballroom which will probably be a better show because of the size of the venue. I have enjoyed the three Bloc party shows I have seen the two at Bowery ballroom and one at webster hall but I don't think that this show will be better than the national at Bowery. Although it doesn't matter to me because I will be out of state seeing the Whitestripes.

thanks for pointing that out. now I don't have to think about it because I'll definitely be at the Bowery show.

When I saw them at Sasquatch they seemed out of place there too. Although I've seen them a lot this year already, since I had such a fun time at their last show I just can't pass them up.
